Things Not To Do With A French Bulldog

French bulldog exercise

Hi There,

I would like to say that French Bulldogs require a little more care and attention compared to other breeds.

However, as ideal pet owners, we have to know some important things about what to do, and more importantly, we need to know what not to do, don’t we?

So, I would like to share something about things not to do with a French Bulldog. So why am I waiting? Let’s start.

Overfeeding

Sometimes, as pet lovers, we think that the more they eat, the better.

But that’s not true. We should follow a balanced diet. Overfeeding can cause different types of health issues. The conclusion is to provide them with a diet recommended by a veterinarian. You can also get an idea from the Best Food for French Bulldogs.

Exercise

Though Bulldogs need regular exercise, excessive exercise is not good for their health. French Bulldogs have smaller noses compared to other breeds, which makes it difficult for them to breathe.

Extreme exercise in extreme temperatures is not good for their health. Not only that, but they are also sensitive to both heat and cold, so we should avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures. I think you got the idea.

By the way, another thing is Forceful Training. French Bulldogs respond best to positive reinforcement training. So, we need to avoid harsh or forceful training techniques. It’s pretty much sure that forcing them in training can lead to fear and aggression.

Ignoring Training

Have you seen some Bulldogs being very angry and unconscious in their behavior?

This type of behavioral problem could arise from ignoring the training of Bulldogs. Training helps them fit both mentally and physically.

Leaving Them for Long Periods

French Bulldogs are naturally very cute and good companions. If we leave them for long periods, they can suffer from mental issues like separation anxiety.

Try to ensure that they have enough mental and physical stimulation to be well and avoid leaving them alone for long periods of time.

Neglecting Dental Care

Frenchies are prone to dental issues. Neglecting dental care can cause gum disease and tooth loss. Consider this as a small but important advice from your friend (me).

Avoiding Harmful Substances

Our Frenchies are very curious about everything in our house, aren’t they?

As they are very active and curious dogs, we shouldn’t give them access to harmful substances. Keep toxic foods, chemicals, and medicine out of their reach.

It sounds simple and funny, but they are not able to understand what’s harmful to them, so it’s our responsibility to keep them safe.

Being Natural and Social

It’s a very deep and conscious thing to talk about. Very little but important, in my opinion, is that our Frenchies are social animals; they have a social instinct in their dog community.

We should allow them to be social, as it helps our dogs develop good behavior and confidence. That’s how they grow up to become the best pet and love for us.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, we all know what to do or what not to do, but the thing is, I want to make you aware of things you might not consider. However, if even one line or one word is helpful for you and your pet, it would make me glad. How about you?

Let me know. Be happy and keep your Frenchie happy.
